Fork Lighting

Look closely at the fork and you will see that it's not that new! When I took the shot, the idea was to make the viewer have to think about what it is they are looking at. I might try again in the future, but with a less worn fork.

Humber Bridge in Black and White

Anyway, by way of a test blog direct from Flickr, I have chosen this photo of the Humber Bridge as I'm pretty proud of it - it is the most viewed of all my photos on Flickr...

I went out with my brother in law Paul one night and stood under the bridge for what seemed an age, taking lots of shots as the sun disappeared. I have already posted the colour version of this, but I think the black and white, square crop works well. I have a fairly large print of this at home and intend framing it when I get a chance... when being the operative word though!

365 project

Ok, so a new year approaches and, as I'm sure many other photographers are contemplating, I'm considering a 365 photo project for the new year. It seems quite a good round number to start on as well as it's the beginning of a new decade. Perhaps a "365 project for each year in a decade project"???

Anyway, this is my first post on this blog and while I intend to keep it as regularly updated as possible, it may be that it's not every day... I will, however, be keen to make sure that I post one picture per day on my Flickr site - www.flickr.com/photos/steveturnbull. As a bit of a rule, to take into account holidays and time away etc, if I am unable to post for a period of time, I will have to make up the shortfall with original photos once I am able to start uploading once more!
