Lets face it - the challenge I set myself to post one new photo for each day of the year has come to a grind... It's difficult to find the time, let alone make sure it's a decent photo. I could take a fresh photo of my cats every day, but that's not what it's all about - I want the photos to be something I'm happy with.
So, on that note, I have not named this one Day 26 or whatever, it's just another photo and my ramblings... Actually, this is quite an old photo I took of one of the doorways of Lincoln Cathedral one time. It's otherwise quite an ordinary picture, but I tried out some photoshop shenanigans on it to create a kind of montage. I'll try a few more like this maybe?
Anyway, I will keep posting my photo's to this blog as and when, just it wont be one per day.

365 Project - Day 21: Love of Books
I know this is an old idea, but I like it and wanted to have a go. Considering my limited lighting equipment it hasn't turned out too bad. I might have another go sometime soon.
365 Project - Day 20: A good heart...
...these days is hard to find. Well, that's according to Fergal Sharkey for those that can remember the song :-) A little late getting delivered this one, but in my vain attempt to keep up with the quickly disappearing days, this is my effort for day 20...

365 Project - Day 19: Scissors
Day 19 of 365 and it's already proving to be a difficult task to produce one photo for each day of the year! This and the two others below were done yesterday and I am now 'caught up', but at the expense of decent photos I'm afraid...
I think there is a shot in there somewhere, possibly some arty and creative photoshopping, but I simply have not had the time. I have started keeping notes for ideas for photos, and pinching others' good ideas, but I have limited equipment at home for the still life stuff (which I actually really like doing and it does look good when it works).
Anyway, I think I have sussed some ways of creating a DIY 'soft' light using greece proof paper and an old photo frame and apparently glass on black paper makes for good reflections!
I have come to the conclusion that taking a unique photo each day IS possible if either you have plenty of time on your hands (a lot of art students do 365 project - funny that 'int it!!) or you post a new picture of your cat every day (boring, but I think I'll probably get one or two in at some point). However, or me it is proving unrealistic, but I wont give in, I'll just have to do it in a slightly more batch style like this.

365 Project- Day 16: Wet moped
Well, better late than never. Haven't had chance to get out with the camera until today, so I have filled the missing photos for 14th, 15th and 16th (today)...
It was hoofing it down in Lincoln but the camera can cope with a bit of water - I dropped a similar camera into a pond once and after two or three days of careful drying it was like new, so I guessed a bit of rain wont hurt. Anyway, I was really looking for neat reflections and wanted one of the car lights on the shiny road, but they didn't come out. I liked this one though, but it's a pity I didn't get in a little closer to the moped, which would have made the background even blurrier(the affect I was after). You get nice saturated colours in these conditions though, which is good...
365 Project - Day 15: Reflected bank
Another reflection shot. This one from Lincoln. It's of the bank on the corner opposite Waterstones and as there isn't much colour in the photo anyway, I thought it looked better converted to black and white.

365 Project - Day 14: "Steep Hill" in the rain
This photo is shot at the foot of Steep Hill and it looks out over Lincoln. I like this one, it's got an 'old photo' feel to it...

365 Project - Day 13: Spooky
I have often looked out from my decking area and seen the lights of the building behind my house silhouetting the trees. Tonight there is a bit of mist and it gives it a spooky feel.
This brings me nicely up to date with the 365 project and is the last of three posts for tonight - phew!

365 Project - Day 12: Egg in cup
This is the second of three to be uploaded tonight. Again, up on my Flickr site on time, but not had a chance to post to me blog! All done now though.
365 Project - Day 11: Key
Well, it mat be a bit late coming, but this photo was on my flickr site a just day late... Time and not being able to get out with the camera means that I must find alternative subjects and as I do like the abstract, I guess there will be more and more like this :-)

365 Project - Day 10: Egg Cup
It's late - just got this uploaded, will write more tomorrow... maybe...

365 Project - Day 9: Cold walk home
Having not been able to get out today with my camera, I have resorted to using a photo I took the other day.... Not much time to write at the minute, I'm off to the pub :-0

365 Project - Day 8: Starling
The starling seemed to be quite an aggressive bird. Perhaps a true ornithologist might beg to differ - this is just how I saw things today... Anyway, this is one of a few shots I took, the best of which I have posted as a set on my Flickr pages:
If I had enough money (and could warrant it), a nice 200-500mm Nikkor VR lens would be just the job for this kind of photography, but until I have several spare £££ I will make do with what I have :-) Besides, if I spent that kind of money on a lens for my camera it would mean I would need to start getting up early to watch birds, and that just isn't on my list of to-do's at the minute.

365 Project - Day 7: St John's Church
At the end of the day out with my camera, I saw this reflection whilst passing St John's church in Brigg. I have photographed this building before, but I think this is a little different...

365 Project - Day 6: Sunburst tree
Took this shot in Scawby Park. Was out with Clive today and the sun came out for a few brief moments... I took a load more shots and will start posting them up on my flickr pages as and when I get chance - possibly some will pop up as a 365 photo when I get stuck getting out to take a new one :-)
365 Project - Day 5: Snowy point
I shot this in my mums back garden. It's her Cordyline (Cordyline Australis apparently) just after the snow fell. I hadn't intended the in focus area to have such a small depth of field, I simply wanted to throw all but that leaf out of focus - oh well!

365 Project - Day 4: Wicker shadows
Having to think about a photo to take each day is becoming quite difficult and I'm only on day 4/365 :-)
The idea for this one is to make you think about what it is your looking at. It doesn't take long to realise it's a chair (does it??), but by the time you know, or think you know, it means you have looked at the picture for more than a fleeting glance - which is good!

Day 3 - Winter Leaf
I had a particular idea in mind for this, which was to find a red leaf but I couldn't find one, so this is the best I can do for today - not too bad though, I'm quite happy with it.

365 Project - Day 2: Coffee
Now I've caught up after the worst start possible and I have now produced two photos in the first two days of 2010. This was a bit of an experiment and would benefit greatly from some better lighting - I will give it another go once I can figure out how to light it better (don't particularly want to spend money!!).

365 Project - Day 1: Stone staircase
As part of my 365 project for 2010, here is the first photo I am posting this year. It isn't a new photo, but it is new to my flickr - it's also a day late in the sense of my photo-a-day project, but seeing as I can make my own rules up as I go along, I'm still on target as long as I catch up by posting another photo for today (what there is left of it).
The staircase is from Tattershall Castle, which was built between 1430 and 1450 and was owned by Ralph, 3rd Lord Cromwell. More on wikipedia here:
