Robin Hoods Bay Sea Wall

There are lots of beautiful old houses and streets leading down to the sea front and this is the sea barrier which I guess is quite spectacular when the waves are pounding against it at full tide.

I think this version works well; the original colour, full frame shot didn't have quite the same impact.

All very dramatic this one! It would have been better if there had been a few more people kicking around and the car in the distance wasn't in the shot, but oh well. Technically it would have been better shot on my tripod (which I had with me at the time) and a smaller aperture - it's not that sharp by the time you get to the clock. Must learn not to rush as much!

Well, I got my camera back! It found it's way to Edinborough Waverley station lost property and they packaged it and sent it back a few days later via Parcelforce - for £25...

Anyway, to celebrate, I thought I'd post up another picture from my Flickr site, but this isn't one from my London trip (they were all pretty rubbish after all that), it's another one I took in Newcastle earlier this year. I converted it to black & white, only leaving the colour in the bins. I quite like this one. I'll post some more up later...

Where's me camera

Well, I haven't had chance to get out with my camera for ages and so a weekend trip to London to watch War Horse was the perfect excuse to, well, get it out - the camera! Anyway, I thought I'd be able to pick out a few half decent pictures, upload them to Flickr and post a couple onto this blog. Here is where it all went a little bit wrong...

Got on the train at Kings Cross station and we're on a table seat. There was little leg room, so I had to shove the camera bag onto the holding shelf above the seat. I normally put it on the floor next to me. I think this is what confused my oh so absent minded brain - I left it there when I got off the train.

The upshot is that my camera is in it's bag with all my photos in the lost property in Edinborough! I will post some pictures up here when I can, first I need to decide how best to retrieve the gear from another country... Maybe have a drive up north this week??
